What kind of people do you save, and what kind do you stop?
This Movie Bible Study based on Captain America: The Winter Soldier will explore: the purpose and need for unity, how we should respond to spiritual attack, how to determine who needs salvation, the value of confession, and the reward of a job well done.
Film Synopsis: Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, is still working hard to grapple with America's enemies and the nuances of contemporary American culture. Last seen two years ago with the other Avengers battling to save New York City, he now finds himself on call with SHIELD for special assignments. His latest is to head an extraction team to save hostages aboard a SHIELD naval vessel that has been commandeered by terrorists.

The operation is successful, but marred when Rogers discovers that there were two mission objectives instead of one. Agent Romanoff (Black Widow) was sent to recover SHIELD data from the ship, and her inattention to Roger's objective put the mission in jeopardy. Rogers confronts SHIELD director Nick Fury, who decides to let Rogers in on the latest governmental initiative: The Insight Project. Armed with three helicarriers outfitted with an array of high-tech guns linked to satellite data, the project is designed to eliminate threats to the government: both real and potential.

When Nick becomes suspicious about the intent of Insight, he is targeted and left for dead. Rogers and his crew recognize that SHIELD has been infiltrated by HYDRA, that the Insight program is immoral and illegal, and he vows to bring it down. But HYDRA has a secret weapon of its own -- the Winter Soldier -- a seemingly indestructible, unstoppable super soldier. Rogers has to figure out a way to stop him before the launch of Insight, or else millions will be slaughtered in a purge that will destroy the republic and inaugurate a new world order rooted in chaos and fueled by fear.
