How do we go from being lost to being found?
Gravity can stimulate discussions about what it means to be lost, the difficult choice of self-sacrifice, why death is the enemy, and the approachability of God.
Film Synopsis: Ryan Stone and Captain Mike Kowalski are on a routine space shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope, when they receive an urgent message from Mission Control. The disposal of a Russian satellite has gone horribly wrong and now a debris field is hurtling toward them at the speed of a bullet.

With nearly no time to react, the oncoming pieces of the destroyed satellite slam into the shuttle, killing the third member of their crew, and separating Ryan from the shuttle. Spinning out of control, with nothing to halt her inertia, she heads toward outer space. Kowalski, at great personal peril, manages to locate her. He uses the thrusters on his spacewalk jet pack to rescue her, and they begin their calamitous journey across open space to try to find a way home.

The debris field, like a swarm of locusts, has decimated everything with which it has made contact. As Stone and Kowalski confront their own mortality -- in every way conceivable -- they propel themselves miles above the surface of earth, and in the process discover what it is to live a meaningful life.
    Genre: Drama
    Rating: PG-13
Content Advisory: Gravity contains a lot of intense scenes of peril in space as well as some profanity.
