    Who is the real enemy?
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire explores how evil tries to win us over; how sin corrupts what is good; the connections between justice, mercy, and influence; and how to recognize your allies.
Film Synopsis: At the end of the first Hunger Games film, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark defied the odds and the rules to emerge as the first co-victors of the Hunger Games. But the way they manipulated the game and triumphed over the Capitol and President Snow has created both hope in the districts, and powerful enemies.

As The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins, both Katniss and Peeta -- along with their families -- reside in Victor's Village. The Capitol has arranged a "victors' tour" for them, actually a propaganda tour designed to suppress a growing rebellion by making it appear as if Katniss is supportive of the Capitol and the games. But the rebellion is resistant and resilient; with every attempt to quash it the rebellion grows in strength

So the Capitol decides to change the rules and at the third Quarter Quell Hunger Games they demand that only former champions from each district be reaped as tributes. Since Katniss is the only female ever to win from district 12, she is entered. The purpose of this strategy is to assure her death, and with it to extinguish the hope of the rebels.

But Katniss is strategic and at the urging of her mentor Haymitch Abernathy, she and Peeta gather trusted allies. The Games will be particularly brutal, as each tribute is a trained killer. But more is on the line now than the mere survival of an individual victor. If Katniss and Peeta lose, the rebellion dies with them -- but if they win, the Capitol will tremble.
