What would you risk in a battle for the truth about Jesus?
God's Not Dead 2 can stimulate discussions about persecution and suffering for Christ, how earthly problems can mask spiritual warfare, the nature and role of evidence in faith, and how our recognition about the identity of Jesus changes everything.
Film Synopsis: As in the original God's Not Dead, the film interweaves a number of interesting sub-plots, but the film primarily chronicles the trial of Grace Wesley, a high school teacher, who finds herself at the center of a heated legal battle when the school board hauls her in on charges that she has misused her authority in the classroom to discuss her faith. The focus of the dispute is Brooke Thawley, the high-school daughter of self-described "free -thinking" parents who see the case as an opportunity to significantly widen the divide between church and state and increase the chances of scholarships from Ivy League universities who would jump at the chance to have a landmark litigant among their incoming freshman class.

Grace is overwhelmed by her unpaid suspension from teaching, and can't understand why God would allow this to happen. She is represented by Tom Endler, a public defender who hates to lose. Her opposition comes from ACLU attorney Peter Kane who insists that faith is not on trial, but takes every opportunity to show that it is.

As the trial unfolds, evidence is brought to bear on the historicity of Jesus and the reliability of the Scriptures as widely-respected historical documents. Challenges come as the prosecuting attorneys attempt to show that Grace is a dangerous proselytizer who is in violation of the law. Expert witnesses are brought to the stand, as well as Brooke and others. Ultimately, it is up to the jury to decide whether Jesus Christ has a place in the public square.
